In this thread I will list some of the nearby hotels to EGL Manchester (Event City, 13-14th October 2012). It is listed by distance from the venue (or Trafford Centre) and i've excluded those that are really overpriced. Also, all hotels and prices listed here will be check-in: Friday 12th October to check-out: Monday 15th October (3 nights).
As far as i am aware, EGL do not have a deal with any local hotels (this could change in the future)

And that's the general gist for around 5miles outwards. As you can see as it's in the city there are a lot of apartments - which may include extra charges which are not shown in this list. It is really suggested that you book as soon as possible to ensure you get advance prices wherever possible.

I can't really comment on why the prices are what they are because i don't deal with that part unfortunately. But with Halo we try to make it worth your while. We play pool-play which goes into the double elimination bracket - which means you play plenty of games for your money.
Not only are you playing these games, there will be lots of exhibitions you can go and look at next to it. Also the famous Trafford Centre is just around the corner which is definitely worth a visit!
